Swindon Dance offers a welcoming home for artists, companies and creatives who need space to explore, rehearse and develop new work. Whether you’re building choreography, refining a performance, running a creative workshop or sharing work in progress our spaces give you the freedom, support and calm you need to create.
With professional floors, natural light, adaptable layouts and a supportive team on site our building is designed to help creative ideas grow.

Swindon Dance sits inside a beautiful Grade II listed building in the heart of the town centre. With original features, bright studios and a warm welcome it’s a space that feels inspiring from the moment you arrive. Unlike shared leisure or community venues our building is used only by Swindon Dance and its visitors which creates a calm, focused and professional environment for every hire.
A duty manager and reception team are on site throughout your booking and the building is fully secure with CCTV and an entry telecom system. The lift offers full wheelchair access to all public areas and both floors include accessible toilets and changing facilities. A light-use kitchen and comfortable waiting areas are also available for longer sessions.
Whether you’re hosting a rehearsal, creative showing, class, intensive or development week our spaces adapt easily to your needs.

THE COURT THEATRE
The Court Theatre gives artists a generous, adaptable space to explore movement, staging and story. The sprung floor with Harlequin covering is ideal for physical work and the retractable seating lets you shift easily between rehearsal mode and creative showing. Companies use the theatre for R&D periods, residencies, filming, improvisation sessions and small-scale sharings. It’s a room that supports ambition without pressure and gives you the freedom to create with confidence.

THE PURDY STUDIO
The Purdy Studio is a light-filled, uplifting space that instantly encourages creative focus. With high ceilings, natural light and a generous floor area it’s perfect for developing choreography, refining technique, running workshops and holding full-day intensives. Its calm atmosphere makes it a favourite for contemporary practice, ballet labs, creative research, photography and content creation.

THE MCCLUSKEY STUDIO
The McCluskey Studio is an intimate, peaceful room ideal for detailed work. Dancers and performers choose it for solo and duet rehearsals, movement exploration, creative coaching, warm ups and pre-show preparation. The privacy and clarity of the space help artists explore nuance and fine-tune ideas without distraction.
