Drawing Dancers

A unique chance to sketch dancers in a class led by local artist Sheryll Fox.

Join resident artist, Sheryll K Fox for an evening of sketching dancers at Swindon Dance. Supported as part of The Festival of Tomorrow programme and in collaboration with Swindon Dance.

The Festival of Tomorrow and Swindon Dance support local artist Sheryll K Fox in creating this unique drawing class. It aims to combine the skills of drawing, which can be a tool for scientific observation, with the artist's desire to convey the emotional impact of the experience. Two professional dancers will model in the inspiring setting of the Purdy Dance Studio. There will be a series of poses and moving sequences with optional drawing exercises and tips led by Sheryll.

Information for artists

Artists must bring their own materials e.g. sketchbooks, paper, pencils. Water-soluble materials can be used with care. No paint or materials which could damage the dance floor are to be used. The class is designed for adults who wish to develop their drawing skills. The dance style is improvised contemporary, and the dancers will be in rehearsal outfits.
