Sheryll's artwork is full of energy and movement, inspired by the Wiltshire landscape and figures from her background in theatre. Each painting is well observed, full of texture, and beautiful, expressive marks.
Sheryll has been sketching at Swindon Dance over the past two years, creating larger paintings inspired by these movement sessions. These will feature amongst an eclectic mix of landscapes and drama-inspired works. There will be brand new pieces created for the exhibition, as well as some paintings that she has never exhibited before. The artworks will be displayed across both floors of our beautiful Grade II listed building at Swindon Dance.
Prior to this, her first solo show, Sheryll’s art was selected for the prestigious juried ING Discerning Eye exhibition at The Mall Galleries in London, and The Bath Society of Artist's 116th Annual Show at The Victoria Gallery. She exhibits with The Corsham Gallery and opens her home studio in Wanborough each year as part of Swindon Open Studios.
A message from the Artist:
“I have been sketching in classes at Swindon Dance for more that a year. This has evolved into a Residency where I am creating work from sessions. This will culminate in the exhibition held in July.
As well as paintings inspired by my live dance sketching sessions, there will be an eclectic mix of landscapes and drama inspired works. I am creating some brand new pieces for the exhibition as well as sharing some paintings which I have never exhibited before. The first group of these artworks went up at Swindon Dance in January with more coming to fill the dance studios over the coming months.”
