Exciting Commissioned Artist Announcement for Swindon Youth Dance Company

We are thrilled to announce that Reuben Spencer and RS Dance Company will be collaborating with Swindon Youth Dance Company (SYDCO) during the October half-term to create an exciting new performance work.

This specially commissioned piece will become a key part of SYDCO's repertoire throughout the year, showcasing the talent, creativity, and passion of our young dancers. Audiences will get their first chance to experience the brand-new work at our Next Level event in December 2026, where it will make its highly anticipated premiere.

About Reuben Spencer

Reuben Spencer is a dynamic freelance dance artist from Berkshire and the founder of RS Dance Company, as well as co-founder of Dance Collide. Having trained with leading youth dance companies across Berkshire and Hampshire, Reuben has developed a distinctive artistic voice and a strong commitment to supporting the next generation of performers.

In 2022, Reuben appeared on the BBC's Dance Passion, further establishing himself as an exciting talent within the dance sector. He also produces the annual Young Performers Showcase at The Corn Exchange in Newbury, creating valuable performance opportunities for emerging artists.

Committed to developing both his creative practice and leadership skills, Reuben has taken part in prestigious programmes including One Dance UK's Young Creatives Programme (2023-2024) and other industry development initiatives.

We can't wait to see what Reuben and the dancers of SYDCO create together and look forward to sharing this exciting new work with audiences later this year.
