Wishing a fond farewell to Emma

After 10 incredible years with Swindon Youth Dance Company (SYDCO), we are sadly saying goodbye to Emma Carter.

Emma joined as SYDCO Leader in 2016 and has been a truly valued member of the team ever since. She has led the company with unwavering enthusiasm, energy and dedication, always going above and beyond to create inspiring experiences for every young dancer she worked with.

Over the years, Emma has nurtured and supported many cohorts of students, helping to shape the next generation of emerging dancers. Her passion for dance, meticulous attention to detail and genuine advocacy for every student have shone through in all of her work. Among her many memorable choreographic achievements, Unsaid and Thank You to Our NHS Nurses remain standout pieces that have left a lasting impact.

Emma has proudly led SYDO across a wide range of regional performance platforms, including U.Dance South West, Lift Off, Love Dance Stage, Swindon Dance's Dance House, and our 40th Birthday celebrations. Her commitment to providing meaningful performance opportunities has helped countless young people grow in confidence, creativity and artistry.

Emma's warmth, positivity and infectious enthusiasm have inspired so many dancers over the years. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has brought to SYDCO and to the wider Swindon Dance community.
