We are a registered charity, looking for dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Trustees. Could this be you?
Swindon Dance is an innovative dance venue with a national reputation for excellence in dance. We are one of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisations (NPO) and the home of one of only nine Centres for Advanced Training (CAT) in the country. We are looking for exceptionally motivated people with a passion for dance to join our Board of Trustees.
Becoming a Trustee of Swindon Dance will give you an opportunity to engage in the evolution and development of one of the UK’s leading dance development organisations. You will be responsible, along with the other Trustees, for ensuring the strong and effective governance of the organisation and its financial sustainability and compliance with all relevant legislation. You will be involved in strategic planning and help shape the organisation’s vision, advocating and championing the organisation to build on its successful track record and realise its goals and aspirations.

VOLUNTEER
Join our SALTO! team at Swindon Dance as a volunteer and support our inclusive dance classes for young people aged 12-18yrs with additional needs on Tuesdays from 6-7pm during term time.
You will assist the teacher and assistants in the studio; welcoming participants, supporting them during class, and ensuring everyone is signed out safely at the end of the session.
No prior experience is necessary, as you will be part of a supportive and friendly team. A current DBS check is essential. Please note that this is an unpaid volunteer role. Volunteering with us offers the chance to help individuals directly and become an ‘ambassador’ who promotes a better understanding of the challenges faced by people with additional needs.Register your interest by completing our online form, or contact Jade Carroll, Salto! Facilities Coordinator
Part-time | Flexible Working
Help keep Swindon Dance moving
We’re looking for a proactive and practical Facilities Coordinator to help maintain the safe, smooth and welcoming running of our Grade II listed building in the heart of Swindon.
This is a varied hands-on role working across teams, contractors, landlords and service providers to support the day-to-day operation of our studios, theatre spaces, events and activities.
You’ll be someone who notices the details, solves problems before they grow and takes pride in creating environments where people feel safe, supported and looked after.
About Swindon Dance
At Swindon Dance we believe in enriching lives through dance.
As a long-established charity, we create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in, experience and develop through dance. From community participation and schools work to artist development and international street dance festivals, our building is busy, creative and constantly evolving.
About the role
You’ll support the Operations Manager in ensuring our facilities remain safe, operational and welcoming for staff, visitors, freelancers and customers.
This role includes:
Coordinating building maintenance and repairs
Liaising with landlords, contractors and service providers
Supporting Health & Safety processes and compliance
Setting up spaces for classes, meetings, events and performances
Carrying out and overseeing building safety checks
Supporting venue operations during shows and events
Supervising the Hygiene Technician
Helping maintain the smooth day-to-day running of the building
You’ll need to be comfortable balancing multiple priorities, communicating with different people and working both independently and collaboratively.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
Have experience managing or maintaining a building or venue
Are organised, practical and solutions-focused
Have good communication and people skills
Can manage priorities calmly and efficiently
Take initiative and work well as part of a team
Have a keen eye for detail and improving spaces
Are comfortable with some evening and occasional weekend working
Experience in arts or cultural organisations is not essential. Transferable skills from other sectors are welcomed.
Important Information
Minimum 15 hours / 3 days per week
Additional hours available during busy periods and events
Flexible working pattern
Some evening and weekend work required
Enhanced DBS required
Start date: Monday 29 June 2026

Salary: £25,000 FTE (pro rata for part-time)
